Cryptocoryne cordata in an aquarium |
Synonymies
Cryptocoryne kerrii, Cryptocoryne siamensis,
Cryptocoryne blassii.
Description
Easy to cultivate cryptocoryne for the
aquarium. This plant is very variable of color and shape.
My experiences
In my aquarium
the plant formed a nice rosette with leaves that where green on the upper side
and wine-red on the downside (like on the picture). A slip of this plant
in my aquarium which was placed in my sisters aquarium, which has less
light than my aquarium, formed dark-red leaves and didn't formed such a
nice rosette as in my aquarium (more like the form on the picture). The
size of the plant in my aquarium was about 25 cm high and had a diameter
of also 25 cm. Because I though this size became to big for my aquarium
(plant was placed in the mid-front) I removed this plant after 8 to 9
months after I bought it.
| Place and lighting in my aquarium |
This
plant stood in the mid-front of my aquarium. The lighting I used at the
time was a 0.42 Watt/liter lumilux TL lighting (2*18 Watt). |
