Epalzeorhynchus siamensis
Common
name
Siamese algae eater
Synonymies
Crossocheilus siamensis
Description
Algae eater which is often called king of the algae eaters.
My experiences
This fish has reached a length of
about 8 cm in my aquarium. Looks a lot like E. sp. which is described
above and is also often changed with this fish in stores. As like the E.
sp. this fish did not gave any problems in my aquarium and never have had
a disease. This fish is less territorial than E. sp. and therefore spends
more time eating algae's and less with driving away members of the same
species than E. sp. Therefore this fish is better to keep in a shoal then
the E. sp.
